Students work with the Office of Health Promotion (OHP) and the Student Health Service (SHS) in a number of different ways.

In partnership with the Campus Wellness Connection and the Lowell Bennion Community Service Center, OHP at the Student Health Service staff assist students in organizing community service projects over Spring Break. Join a team of University students and travel to cities throughout the United States to preserve habitats or assist social service agencies assisting populations in need. Scholarships and paid volunteer positions are available.

Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC)

Members of SHAC serve as liaisons between U students and the Student Health Service. They provide SHS with feedback to improve our quality of care. SHAC members may serve on the Insurance Review Committee and on an accreditation committee. SHAC members are involved in a variety of projects including improving student health and wellness on campus, through surveys and conversation tables, researching and writing articles that are printed in The Daily Utah Chronicle ("Head to Toe,") planning, organizing and conducting the annual U of U Wellness Fair.
